Enabling UK parishes to support Christian refugees in Jordan

We began with three Catholic priests and five lay people from parishes in the dioceses of Arundel & Brighton, Lancaster, Plymouth and Birmingham.  We came together in 2015; stirred into action by the plight of the Iraqi Christians in Jordan whom we had met at the parishes we visited in Amman whilst on pilgrimage.

We decided to set up a Parish-based charity in the UK working directly with the local church in Jordan and the NGOs to raise funds to “fill in the gaps” and facilitate friendship between Christian families in the UK and the refugee families.

We draw on the personal and professional contacts we have made over years of bespoke Christian pilgrimages in Jordan.  We set up connections between UK parishes and refugees in caring relationships between people with stories.  We aim to address both the isolation the Iraqis feel, and the wish of many parishioners looking for closer involvement in helping the refugees.

Our Trustees visit Jordan most months and are in touch daily; ready to respond promptly to particular needs as they arise.
